Seriously, why make this an app? That almost screams honeypot. Software development truly damages the brain.
Basically the exact opposite yeah, unless you're a shit coder. Looking under the hood doesn't make it less secure if you use actual encryption. It's only an issue if there are bugs or backdoors, which, being open source lets you find and eliminate.
