They were perfectly fine with it over the past couple decades when it was helping keep them funded.
What changed
China came with some money.
Similar to how they did the same when we paid them to back in the late 90s.
The US pulled out
They're the government now and are funded through taxes, so they can afford to be truer to their own beliefs.
The war ended. They always said it was a temporary measure to raise funds for their insurgency, and I guess they meant it.
Anyone who thinks this is a bad thing needs to strongly reconsider their values.
Doing more meaningful action on the 'war on drugs' in two years than the US ever did!
Huh. So they actually followed through.
I guess being highly ideological cuts both ways here, as per usual.
