Maybe. But after the 10 seasons, I don’t really know what else could be done with that character. I feel I would get tired of that pretty quick.

1 season of it could have been interesting.
Given the money they made off the Office, it was free money to at least try a spin off.
Yeah, maybe a very concentrated miniseries. I just can’t see a show only about him having the legs it needs to have to be a series. But hey, that’s just me. Maybe it could’ve been the greatest thing ever.
I never got slightly tired of Dwight's insanity, personally. I imagine they could've made a funny show based on him.

Frasier?
I would argue that Frasier wasn't comic relief. He was his own personality, and it was enough of a hook to create a respectable show from. If anything, most of the characters around Frasier were the comic relief.
Young Sheldon & spinoffs seem to keep making enough money to get renewed or spunoff
Dwight might be a good character for the Always Sunny universe, if that could happen somehow.
I heard it was a prequel where a young Dwight gets a job being a mortuary assistant for a mom&pop funeral home in LA
Strong disagree, Dwight was there at the end of the series and the end of the series was the worst part of the series. If he was such a strong and compelling character on his own wouldn't have been able to carry it without Steve Carell there?
It doesn't matter how strong your acting is if the writing or direction are garbage, that said I never got into The Office (second hand embarrassment too much) so idk what the issue(s) were.
Yeah, Game of Thrones, Weeds, Dexter, etc are a few examples of shows with beloved characters that could not make up for bad writing. Was the same for House of the Dragon season 2 also.
Writing is the most important foundation, and actors can't hide bad writing.
I mean, when you create The Steve Carell Show with Steve Carell, starring Steve Carell, written by Steve Carell, and then take away Steve Carell, what else do you expect?
