  2. No jokes about dead kids - I don't care how much the romanovs deserved it, or how right John Brown was, save it for another comm.

“paws off my cannon”, a book that, and I quote: “teaches kids about the importance of the Second Amendment and self-defense. The story follows Bongo the gorilla and his friend Bonnie as they debate whether to ban coconut cannons after a hyena uses one to attack them, with Bongo arguing that the cannons are necessary for protection against the hyenas. The book aims to promote the idea that taking away weapons from law-abiding citizens does not deter criminals and can lead to more chaos.”

HIS COCONUT GUN CAN FIRE IN SPURTS IF HE SHOOTS YA IT'S GONNA HURT

I know I know....under no circumstances do you have to hand it to them....but those fuckers KNEW what they were doing.

Maybe someone can provoke Nintendo into filing a lawsuit lol

These are the same people who mocked you for liking Pokemon or Dragon Ball because it’s “unamerican” in the 2000s btw.

There's some idiot in there moaning about how Soviet brutalism looked shitty.

Okay, maybe the kruschevkas could have looked prettier, but they sure look better than homeless encampments. And they looked a lot nicer when they were new and when the state was actually maintaining them.

I know that it's probably a personal bias accounting for why I like Soviet brutalism, but I get really mad when people say it looked ugly, because I really like it, and I've seen capitalists build far worse looking apartment blocks and office buildings. At least Soviet "commieblocks" committed to the brutalism, and had a cohesive architectural style over a large area of planned construction. I just think huge concrete cubes with Soviet symbols or socialist-realism art plastered on them, look really freaking cool.

I miss the Cold War. I miss the Soviet Union.

Im with you! We owe so much to the Soviet Union and lost a whole lot after it was destroyed.

The biggest lie told about the Cold War is that the Western people actually won.

We the proletariat of the world all lost. The only winners were the oligarchs.

I'm still angry my country got involved. I'm angry the Western Allies all hung the Soviets out to dry after the Great Patriotic War. We threw them at the Nazis, and then told them to fuck off and turned on them, while their country was still devastated from the aftereffects of war. I know we never would have, or should have, sided with them against the Americans, but I think we shouldn't have gotten involved at all, and we should have at least yelled at the Americans for hanging our mutual ally out to dry.

they are removing all my comments

Smh so much for the marketplace of ideas.

[–] Pieplup@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Yeah they even removed my comments that weren't even political just stating facts, like that the east india company is responsible for the deaths of upwards of 180 million people or explaining what communism is. or debunking misinformation. The only one of my comments that was took an explicit political stance was this one Like most of them weren't even politicla they were just educating people on geopolitics, political theory, and history. Sure some anti-capitalist bias might have filtered through inthe way iw orded it but they were just statements of fact. So i mean they were most apolitical. idk the moderation is very weird. If they don't want politics they shouldv'e just locked the thread or deleted it. They seem to be removing sleect comments for no real reason. but other similar comments are kept.

I think you forgot the number one rule on reddit: Facts are political and snarky comments are not.

[–] Pieplup@hexbear.net 4 points 5 days ago

that is true

[–] alexei_1917@hexbear.net 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

So if you made a pro communist snarky comment based on facts?

[–] alexei_1917@hexbear.net 2 points 4 days ago

It does tend to, commie subs on there tend to get banned when the commies start posting snarky comments about commie stuff and genuinely funny memes.

[–] Homer_Simpson@hexbear.net 14 points 6 days ago

Guys, what if communism is equally as bad!

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 12 points 5 days ago

Still dreading the day my kid wants to bring home the shit comic books he sees at our library. How Uderzo & Goscinny are still allowed in these supposedly super inclusive and progressive halls is beyond me.
