Liberalism stratifies people into tiers of value. At the top are billionaires, below that smaller capitalists, below that wealthy professional workers, below that imperial core workers, &c. &c. until at the very bottom are working class in the imperial periphery. If harm toward a person in a lower tier has badness value 1, then harm toward a person a tier above them has badness value n, where n is an arbitrary number so large that no amount of violence against those in the lower tiers could result in a number comparable to it; comparisons are only possible within a given stratum because the differences in value between tiers are unbridgeably vast. For examples of this, see: how they talk about Alexei vs. how they talk about (or rather don't talk about) peasant children killed in the Russian Civil War, how much attention they give to imperial soldiers killed in wars vs. the people they're bombing, the Soviet famine of 1930–1933 vs. the Bengal famine.

Conservatives are so ready to forget 9/11. Libs want to cling to it more because they're not finished with being 2004 Republicans. It's like having an old piece of furniture around from the 1800s that your great grandparents churned butter in or something. It has very little use today but you keep it around because your elderly aunts will start crying at Thanksgiving if you get rid of it. The most recent use case for never forgetting was in NYC to use against Mamdani. That's it. That's all it's really good for. It was also wielded by a Demcorat.
Conservatives would much rather forget 9/11 and replace it with Charlie Kirk day. That has more political use for them and libs are doing all the work of making it useful. 9/11 just doesn't have much value. They got their war on Islam, their racism became the mainstream opinion on Muslims. They got their security state. They don't really care about the lives lost there just like they don't care about kids being shot in a high school while Charlie Kirk was staining the sidewalk. The people who died in 9/11 were only useful as a cudgel and to drum up support for war. The kids who die in school shootings don't offer any value and can only hurt conservatives. That's why they always make it about the shooter and how the shooter is a radical leftist, ethnic minority, or trans. Charlie was doing it when he got shot. That's the part that's useful to them.

Actually--because I'm addicted to self-abuse--I went for a peek around the rightwing nut job parts of the internet and they were infighting over whether Charlie is in Valhalla or Heaven, as well as over whether this was a Ukrainian, Israeli, or CIA hit.
I just can't believe after decades of "thoughts and prayers" and "that's life" type responses, if any at all, to school and shopping centre shootings, we're getting this out pouring of grief to shootings. Its pathetic.
