Weight capacity 265 pounds... well, that leaves out most Americans...

Jokes on you, we're already developing foor straps to use these bad boys like rollerblades.

It has a cushy seat for the tushy

[-] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

hehehe, 15mph with a range of about 12 miles. I bet that isn't with a 6' 250lbs American on it.

I sort of want one just to look as hilarious as I imagine it will

I love micromobility, but this product makes zero sense to me. Can anyone explain the use case scenario where this would make sense better than the alternatives?

I have a regular electric scooter which has a handle that folds down. So the height shrinks, but the length is the same. Not a problem for storing it (for me), but I've taken it on the bus folded and it was very awkward.

So I'd imagine since the Honda's back wheel folds in, it might be a better choice. Just a guess though.

Being able to fold it up and carry it with you might be a deciding factor for some… but if there are other electric scooters that offer this capability, then no, I can’t.

Okay. That’s a no, then.

There are folding all sorts of things from scooters to bikes.

Hell, my electric fatbike folds!

I kinda want to pick up one of those folding Terns with the carbon belt and internal up too. It's even got lights powered by dynamos - seems great for getting onto busses and whatnot.

When you have an insatiable lust for novelty?

Why do articles keep comparing this to a brief case. It’s so much larger than a briefcase and is just not comparable. In both size and appearance it more resembles a folding table. Actually I do think I have one very close to that size

[-] FARTYSHARTBLAST@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Brief cases varied in size but I can't remember the last time I saw someone carrying a briefcase. It's definitely more than 20 years though.

[-] AA5B@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

They never varies in size that much, and realistically laptop bags are not very different. They’re all sized based on containing standard or legal sized paper.

Meanwhile that thing is huge, relative to the size of the person. It wasn’t hyperbole to say it looks closer in size to a folding table

I want fold it up and see if it can store it behind the back seat of my truck.

[-] FARTYSHARTBLAST@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

I'd be shocked if you couldn't.

[-] ShitOnABrick@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'll imagine this thing driving over the tiniest rock would send you flying

[-] FARTYSHARTBLAST@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Not as bad as a skateboard though lol

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
