Don’t buy them when they are release wait 1 to 2 years. Be patient, like that it is cheaper, games is finished (I.e with DLC) and less bug

I generally wait until 1-2 gens later when the console is very cheap to buy (<$100). Other than that, I play on PC since most new games are also released on PC.

If you mean games, yes.

If you mean consoles (like the post suggests), then what they're saying is that your strategy won't work...at least if you want to buy them new.

Well thats what this article is saying, prices are staying higher than usual years after launch compared to the price drops years after launch from former console generations.

Can confirm, got PS4 for $200 (used) and most games for $10-$20 each new.

We live in a console generation with prices going up, instead down. It's unprecedented. So waiting one generation might work, but then its all about playing old games. Wait too long and the price of the games might go up, or the stores close...

The ps5 came out 5 years ago now at an msrp of 500usd, on bestbuy right now you can pick up a ps5 for 500 usd. Granted you now get the slimmer version.
