Oh god, the pure unadulterated smugness in the replies made me physically recoil in disgust.

Liberals have the condescending arrogance of sociopaths who think that anyone who genuinely cares about other people is just too stupid to "play the game" properly.

Jordan Lund? Hey, that name sounds familiar, it's this piece of shit: https://www.opb.org/news/series/racenw/race-northwest-united-states-jordan-lund-portland/

He "doesn't like BLM" and has the usual R*ddit view on protests, which is that they should never inconvenience anyone. https://lemmy.ml/post/35405007/20770271

Based on their reaction anytime it's brought up, yes

Hmm, he surely must have grown from his mistake since then.

Deeply perplexing how this article was ever made. Anna Griffin must have known and disliked Jordan and he must've been too arrogant and oblivious to realize.

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 34 points 7 months ago (2 children)

lmao that guy is such a massive loser. He always picks fights and then bails a few comments in when it becomes apparent he can't actually support anything he says.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 18 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Really fun when he is just ignoring his own sub rules or saying they don't apply. Or just refuses to clarify them

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 22 points 7 months ago

He's basically a caricature of a Reddit mod

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 7 points 7 months ago (5 children)

you keep track of people? how?

[–] Dirt_Possum@hexbear.net 14 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I'm not the person you're replying to, but I can't help but remember usernames, especially when paired with a pfp. I don't intentionally keep track of them, but my brain, entirely of it's own accord, insists on storing the identifying information of people who piss me off. It does it to some extent for people I like and think are cool, but it never lets me forget the ones who made me internet-delenda-est enough to reply to them.

Maybe I shouldn't be admitting this, it might help encourage the more pathetic among the attention-seeking trolls.

No, I encourage this, I would much rather have some troll diversity, I'm sick of the ones coming in and saying the most milquetoast generic lib shit, I want them to get really nutty with what they say, just spewing the most absurd nonsense possible!

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

i do this too and make an effort to let it go because they're nothing more than internet strangers and you're the one burden with this cross.

also: MUCH easier said than done. lol

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 7 months ago

It doesn't help that every time I forget about them something like this happens.

Or they do a different rant like go on about how nothing using substack can be considered news. Not that substack is good but damn their logic process is awful

[–] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 12 points 7 months ago (2 children)

You eventually recognize power users or mods. He mods the news comms on .world and has extremely questionable modding policies. I think he might also be an admin at .world but I'm not sure.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 7 months ago

Rumor is their a sub admin or super mod. Which is weird but unsurprising considering how similar he is to all the other admins

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 2 points 7 months ago

that would explain why it's such a fucked up community and why it's so chocked full of american propaganda; i always wonder if it's intentional or if it's being spread unwittingly.

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 10 points 7 months ago

Because I've been in threads with him and remember his antics.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 7 months ago

Idk if it they actively are or it's just the amount of times the mod is doing shit like this

Ah, I see that he's a big fan of Proudhon, and has no understanding of the mechanisms that cause specialization.

[–] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 25 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Before his PFP was a blue Oregon overlaid with "Vote!". Now class, which PFP was a more effectual.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 11 points 7 months ago (1 children)

And before that was just a Pic of him screaming at the camera

[–] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 4 points 7 months ago

iirc he was literally doing one of the soyjak impersonations.

Friendly reminder that Microsoft removed "don't be evil" from their code of conduct.

Edit: It was google but at this point it's hard to differentiate

Btw friend, we're trying to reduce the amount of derogatory language that's used to insult people's intelligence on hexbear. Do you mind removing "stupid" from the header? It may seem silly but consider it an experiment to change site culture.

[–] Samsuma@lemmy.ml 14 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Sure thing, totally get it. Also wasn't that Google?

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Appreciate it.

Oh, shit I guess it was... Welp, same thing.

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 19 points 7 months ago

"Don't be evil" was like specifically a slight at Microsoft, which was like the most evil tech company back in the day.

(Back in the day when tech was smaller and the "most evil tech company" award could be won with unfair business practices alone. Not Facebook enabling genocides.)

the 3-letter uniformed "how do you do fellow lemmitors!" pork belly's live reaction:

[–] bloubz@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What's that doing on Lemmy?

[–] ThermonuclearEgg@hexbear.net 19 points 7 months ago

It's .world which is more Reddit than Reddit itself
