I have a friend somewhere in the CDC and it has just been chaos, petitions, layoffs, investigation into ‘dissenting opinions’, and more! These are people who want to protect our people from chemicals and more. Ughhhhhghghghghfjqlwoeux

Cool. More positions to fill with comically (horrifyingly) under-qualified people.

And like always nothing will be done.

Big resignations at CDC undermine the function of the agency. Things are happening. These decisions have consequences.

The question is whether we'll see leading Democrats try and intercede or just leave CDC officials to twist in the wind.

The Democrats can't do much until at least after midterm elections. They're out of power right now.

The Democrats can’t do much

Democrats control seven of the twelve largest and wealthiest states in the country. The dogged insistence that state level Democrats in areas as rich and influential as California, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Massachusetts just can't do anything until the Federal Government gives them permission is horseshit. It was horseshit under Biden and horseshit under Trump 1 and horseshit under Obama and horseshit under Bush.

You'll be able to spot bad Democrats (Gov Newsom, Mayor Bowser) from better Democrats (Pritsker, Hochul surprisingly) based on how willing they are to butt heads with the administration over control of the state and how aggressive they are in leading the legislature to countermand federal orders.

They could call for a general strike.

They literally can't, unless you want to give the federal government a reason to arrest them for violating the Taft-Hartley Act.

K, guess it is fascism then.

And the brain worm sees nothing wrong with that
