Because Gavin Newsom in California is going to neutralize them by adding 5 more. They snuck a 6th in though.
They should have stayed away until the session expired and have Newsom add more anyway. This is a war and the sooner they realize it the better.

At least it is getting some press. It has been happening much more quietly in other typically red states to remove any last democratic strongholds.
