I've found that playing over internet makes it all much easier. A 3 hour session means 3 hours, instead of 3 hours plus motivation to get out of the house and travel times

And when they finally can meet up for a session they spend the 4 hours arguing over whether to even go in the dungeon or not

Trying to play games with your friends as an adult really sucks.
