BTW, this I'd a hard-core dem liberal sub that genuinely believes in trump when he says that Russia has lost 14 times as many soldiers as Ukraine this year.

I'm linking the thread because there are horrors beyond the comprehension in this thread.

It'll be interesting to see how these people reconcile their fantasy world when the collapse eventually comes

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 25 points 2 months ago

They'll just blame Ukraine for "tricking" them and shove them back into the pile of us-foreign-policy

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 24 points 2 months ago

Without any problem, they just memory hole this and move to the next US war.

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 19 points 2 months ago

"Ah, well nevertheless"

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago

What'd they say about Syria?

trump is full of shit up until the moment he says something we can agree with

[–] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 18 points 2 months ago

I mean ok, but like that is just true. Broken clocks and all.

The actual problem is that the neolibs don't have an independent way of verifying casualties but believe in what trump is telling them anyways because "muh Russian human wave tactics" (there were articles all the way back in like early 2024 fearmongering about how the Russians are supposedly learning better tactics and will become way harder to beat) and "muh CIA supersoldier operatives" (this one is just funny. The sheer glaze and dickriding that would put any bukkake ever filmed to shame*)

*apologies for the metaphor

It's interesting how it's the exact opposite of reality.

Russia advancing along all lines, Ukraine having to exchange captured civilians and exhumed corpses in exchange for their own POWs and dead, 1/10th of the artillery fire, Russia having air superiority and launching far more ordinance into the frontlines

None of it adds up with their imagination. It's hilarious they got Trump hooked on this bullshit too

Donald Trump is completely untrustworthy apart from when he is talking about a heavily propagandized war (because he said what I wanted to hear)

that number does not include their missing

There is actually some grain of truth in this part, AFU routinelly classify dead soldiers as missing to not have to pay their families, few weeks ago they refused to take 6000 bodies of their soldiers Russia delivered to them after Kursk offensive broke because paying for even those would be like 10% of their military budget. They also beg west to pay for their soldiers.

A facially ridiculous and unfeasible claim, anyone who believes this is blinded by ideology. In peer warfare the casualty ratio is usually between 1:2 and 2:1. Even so, if Ukraine was losing this much ground while inflicting 14 times the deaths it would make them look even worse off

[–] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 28 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Ah but you see ... CIA

I also suspect the CIA has something to do with the disparity too. It'll be interesting to read the post mortem, decades from now, but I would guess we're doing quite a bit to help them direct artillery fire. What's the proverb? Hell hath no fury like a bored (former) 131A. We're seeing some of the results of the best trained military in the world finally putting their spy satellites and signals intelligence to work in a conventional conflict.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 30 points 2 months ago (1 children)

TIL the CIA has a satellite beam that kills Russians from the sky.

[–] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 2 months ago

The space lasers actually belonged to the CIA, not the Jews.

best trained military in the world

tbf, the yankee fascists are ruthlessly drilled in 100 ways to kill an unarmed child
their experience and dedication to massacring civilians by the ton is only rivaled by the IOF
who else has the single-minded devotion to obliterating a wedding party from an air-conditioned room in nebraska?

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This isn’t “peer” warfare anymore though. Russia outguns the Ukrainians by a ratio of 10:1 and has air superiority

The ratio is actually something like 1:8, but in the opposite direction that the westoids claim

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If the ratio were 1:8, then Russia would have won the war long ago.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Turns out it takes a long time to churn through a million Ukrainian conscripts

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Military collapse doesn't require killing all enemy troops or even the majority of them. Just enough to disrupt his ability to organize a coherent defense. And Ukraine is still able to do so, even if its efficiency is steadily declining.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ukrainian losses exceed 600,000

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm very sceptical of any losses numbers, because everyone involved has motivation to lie about them.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Yeah Ukraine is just having acute manpower shortages despite supposedly having a million man army for no reason in particular

I'm on my Ikea Klippan couch, lying down totally flat. Got my Switch 2 with my Game Key card of Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S inserted and playing (no, I can't figure out T-spins yet). I have my iPad Mini propped on the coffee table beside me with my AI companion reading off r/neoliberal posts as I game. Door dash is set to deliver $42 of burgers and shake to me (won't tip if it's not hot).

I am neolib.

If you all stop arming and funding the wars, then the wars will stop. If only there was someone with the power to do that......
