We were so close gang 
A lot of time capsules are insanely optimistic. People in general have wild predictions about the future. Shit people today still think stuff like flying cars might work (lol, lmao).
Something I think about in terms of future hope (this is written in the context of computers and why they turned out awful):

That said, we are probably too cynical now. It's almost considered childish to hope that maybe one day we might be basically decent, or that we might not live in a surveillance capitalism hellscape. Certainly it's harder to dream wonderful dreams in a world where the dominant hegemony is actively trying to suppress the idea that things could get even marginally better.
What abkut flying trains though? Can we have those?

The "those who do not know what war is" one is funny. I'm not convinced that a fully communist world will end war. If anything I am in fact quite convinced that leftists will fight other leftists just as hard or even harder for sometimes ridiculous reasons.
