This is why the #fascist #GOP has been screaming about "indoctrination" at schools. It's all lies & projection.

Yup

Step 1: Lie about people doing some horrific thing

Step 2: Do the horrific thing yourself

Step 3: claim it was necessary because other people did it first

I wish the schools had that much influence over my kid. Maybe he’d turn in his homework on time.

[-] chakan2@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

Will any colleges even accept a Prager U education?

[-] Jerkface@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

Notice they never explicitly call themselves a University. That's because they aren't one.

[-] SatanicNotMessianic@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 year ago

I believe I read that they were sued to stop using the name Prager University as it was considered false advertising, so in typical conservative fashion they grifted long enough to get their name out there and then just hoped no one would notice.

[-] Nanomerce@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

yes, prager university

[-] deweydecibel@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I had a business professor sneak this bullshit into their class once.

It's definitely in colleges

[-] YoBuckStopsHere@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Liberty I'm sure does.

[-] Kena@lemm.ee 17 points 1 year ago

Prager U invested A LOT of money in making kids content specifically because they’re younger generations see through their bullshit.

If we are going to exist as a nation, there are beliefs and stories we need to share. And, historically, our public schools have been the chief mechanism for ensuring common ground.

It sounds as if we need a set of core information that all schools should teach. Something common that you get taught no matter what school you go to. A common core curriculum if you will.

Wow that's some "grasping at any straw possible" type of journalism.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. First, let's dismantle PragerU in classrooms.

[-] kibiz0r@midwest.social 6 points 1 year ago

Is it? It seems pretty consistent with their everlasting desire for school vouchers to subsidize private/religious schools.

[-] BenGFHC@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

PragerU is in classrooms?!?

"Why don't you make like a bassist and be inaudible?"

Edit: I just thought I'd make it super clear in case anyone thought I was just randomly being a dick, that's something someone says to Murderface in the show.

According to this article, maybe 1% of classrooms in states where it's approved for use. Not a lot of educators find the content to be educational.

Was prepared to hate the article, but it was quite worth the read. That website needs meds though.
