Do not reject imperfect allies, r/BuyCanadian is still a force for good, it's helped many find the Fediverse and Canadian products

We're all trying our best and every little bit we do counts. If they're not ready to be off reddit yet, that's okay, at least they're doing other stuff to boycott US products.

The moderators are good but it would be better if they can transplant all their users to here instead.

Agreed, I hope the same for other Subs

Okay, gottit. We should observe bad things and not say anything about it. Mucho better!

Yup, I got that style of comment when someone asked me “Why are you using reddit then?” even if I used it more that doesn’t invalidate my argument.

All that is left of my Reddit account is inactivity and the fact that I removed myself from all the groups that where not Canadian centric in January. Maybe someday I will go back to it, maybe it will be sold to some agency outside of US. I doubt it though, I will hopefully forget about it. If I get emails about it I will change that address to not forward to one of the email addresses I check.

Having an older reddit account is great for advocacy purposes since people tend to trust the older ones more. I proudly have a 2 year badge on mine. But I often wonder how much more effective with the message I could’ve been with a 15 year old one.

Wait did something happen to threaten subreddit? It seems to be humming along.

I do belive sunshine is just pointing out the contradiction of using an American owned social media site to encourage people to buy canadian.

Ehhh, I've stopped using reddit but I don't fault people for it and the significant amount of available content.

And in this case I imagine way more people, like by orders of magnitude, are at least seeing, engaging and noting Canadian brands albeit via an American service.
