This is an open-ended question. I occasionally have facetime dates with my partner. What are some good activities we can do? They don't have to be fancy or romantic,

So far we've:

  • built lego sets at the same time
  • listened to music together
  • gone through quizzes on sporcle.com
  • tried to name all 50 us states in a google doc (lol)
  • Played this scattegories clone https://really.boring.website/
  • Watched a movie

I'm particularly interested in other games like scattegories that we can play together.

Thanks!

Building on the Lego thing. There is a game with Lego where one has the instructions and the other one builds the Lego. If you want it easy the guide can see what is being built and if you think your relationship could handle it the guide can't see the build until it's done.

Because it is very difficult you can buy pretty small/cheap sets and get a lot of use from it.

Jackbox is boring with just 2 people

Play couch co-op games remotely

Dice games

Follow a recipe. Cook and eat the same meal at the same time

Tabletop simulator on steam is a good buy for playing onle. Heaps of board and card games on the workshop topick from and play.

If you want a particular game to play we did Stardew Valley with my now wife before I moved across the world for her.

Stardew Valley is on the list!

My partner’s not much of a gamer, so I worry table top simulator might not be accessible.

codenames.game - I think it supports the duel (2 player) version.

Lots of 2 player games on yucata.de too (and BGA which has already been mentioned)

You could play boardgames on Board Game Arena

I just did geoguessr with my team, but rather than competing, one person shared their screen and everyone advised on how to move the camera and worked together to come up with our best guess. It was really fun for about an hour.

Dice throne works really well virtually. Think of it as battle Yahtzee. It's pretty easy/cheap to pick up a couple characters.

I recommend Activities on Discord. These are fun games that you can play while in a call together.
