Dude probably knows he’s done, so might as well close out your career at home in front of your most beloved fans.

Blazers with the ultimate fleece.

WTF are they doing? Makes no sense.

They are barely selling tickets. They've been unwatchable for a few years since he left. They will sell speculative, future hope with this contract and that always brings to the faithful back.

For the Blazers? Ideally, Dame is going to put up good enough numbers to get fans to come to games but not good enough to really ruin their lottery chances.

Why not give playing time to a young guy who can develop for the future in place of Dame.

Yeah it’s a bit of a head scratcher. Like if he comes back the year after and is close to his same output they have him on a discount then.

But they’re paying him all of this next season just to take that chance. And if he doesn’t recover well there’s more downside.

Feels mostly a sentimental move

It's absolutely a sentimental move. It's Kobe's last contract.

The prodigal son returns.

Sad it didn’t workout for him in Milwaukee but glad the Bucks and him were both able to move on relatively well!
