I clicked the article, expecting my jimmies to be rustled.
Offences covered by the legislation will include assaults, stealing and robbery, property damage, dangerous and reckless driving, racial harassment, inciting racial hatred and depictions of Nazi symbols and salutes.
I ... have no issues with that. Morons filming themselves driving 200km/h down the road are one of my pet peeves. You're not cool idiot, you're risking the lives of dozens of people in an attempt to seek approval.
I'm sure complaining about mistreatment of Palestinians or the actions of Israel will be "inciting racial hatred" not to mention the millions of memes that make references and comparisons of figures today to Nazis (eg Elon's salute)
The sharing of material for legitimate purposes like reporting news and current affairs reports, complaining or warning about criminal conduct, or for genuine artistic or satirical purposes will not be penalised.
I suppose it'll really come down to the court's determination of legitimate purposes. I'd say there's a lot of sensationalism presented by news and current affairs that shouldn't be classed as legitimate purpose, while theres likely going to be protestors recording police interactions caught and muffled by this legislation. I think the courts bias towards power and the status quo will undermine the interpretation of this law.
