did she actually condemn the war against Iran or are libs being delusional again?

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 87 points 1 week ago (2 children)

lol she said Iran was the United States' main foreign rival in her campaign

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Rival- a person or thing competing with another for the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity

She meant 'Enemy' but rival is a softer sounding word. They are absolutely no way rivals.

[–] imogen_underscore@hexbear.net 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

she said "greatest adversary"

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

That's less weird sounding.

In 4 years did the US do anything as hawkish against Iran as murdering Suleimani?

Like, I obviously think the dnc should be destroyed but the front page being littered with Kamala posts the day after a declaration of war seems like some Republican astroturfing, truly weird levels of cope and almost offensive considering the severity of the situation

[–] astronot@hexbear.net 43 points 1 week ago

I gotta say, Hexbear is the last place I would expect to be called a Republican shill for making fun of Kamala Harris and reddit libs, yet here we are.

But anyway, places like reddit and bluesky currently have levels of "I told you so" posting that is off the charts. It only stands to reason there would be more anti-lib posts than usual in the past couple of days, given the rank hypocrisy and all. I mean, what do you even say about Trump? There are serious discussions to be had about that... but this is c/slop.

Some of those posts are mine. I have one of the oldest accounts on hexbear, having been here since the day the site launched. It's a pretty long con for me to post almost 2000 comments over 5 years, mostly about socialism being good, so I can then "republican astroturf" by pointing out that democrats had a hand in bringing us to this point.

Anyway what was Chuck Schumer trying to do here? This guy is the most high ranking democrat right now.

We definitely struggle with anti-lib vindictiveness and this is the home of people who are pissed at liberal family members and friends. Naturally, libs are having their "told you so" moment and people just want to correct the record.

IMO initiating and aggressively squashing opposition to the Gaza genocide (well, accelerating it, but you get what I mean) and Operation Prosperity Guardian were pretty clear preludes to this war and were pursued by the Biden admin. Is that as hawkish as Trump 1? Nah, not really, but libs really hate being reminded of their shared culpability. Like when we remind them PR exists as more than just a card to play against Republicans.

Look, I am willing to give a millimeter of room to liberals when it comes to domestic policy: Copmala would most likely not be so brash as to make a spectacle of deportations and sow terror in immigrant communities (doesn't mean she wouldn't be deporting people, just that she wouldn't be as hamfisted as Trump).

But foreign policy? Iran, of all places? If anything she would've bombed Tehran weeks ago.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 52 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Instead of bombing Iran on June 22nd to commemorate Operation Barbarossa, she would've bombed Iran on Juneteenth.

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This deserves to be a site tagline

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Sadly it only works if you count the attack in Iran time, Trump probably hasn't actually developed theory of mind so the concept of time zones might not actually have factored into his decision making.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That detail doesn't detract from it being a good line.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

why are you ratioing me i was trying to double dip on my own joke kitty-cri-screm

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

No double dipping waluigi-stalin

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

It seems to have also happened on the 22nd Moscow Time (which everyone here and in the White House operates off of)

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 24 points 1 week ago

The fact that this doesn't sound far fetched at all, and that I just know liberals would clap like trained seals at it. It's just so grim

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 29 points 1 week ago

she would have been bombing iran in a girlboss way and i could be at brunch!!!

[–] djphdk@hexbear.net 57 points 1 week ago (1 children)

SHE'D HAVE BOMBED IRAN TOO AND ALL THE LIBS WOULD THINK IT WAS GOOD

why did they make her white

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago

Biden did that to her

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 14 points 1 week ago

To make her more palatable to suburban liberals.

[–] adultswim_antifa@hexbear.net 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Libs are getting into that "we were always against this" mode again.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

Took em a lot longer back in the war in terror. Its almost like when reprisal is actually on the table Americans are suddenly fucking cowards. Cause they are.

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 34 points 1 week ago

Everyone in that comment thread deserves beheading

barbara-pit barbara-pit barbara-pit

I don't know what level of reality denial you have to be operating on to form this narrative in your rotted brain...

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 19 points 1 week ago

Actually she by definition cant do those things because she's useless and not in power. Checkmatenerd

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ain't no way I'm clicking that reddit link and sustaining mental damage.

[–] astronot@hexbear.net 30 points 1 week ago

Yeah, it's exactly what you imagine. Not good, not good.

[–] dead@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I just know Kamala is somewhere laughing her ass off!!! 🤣 Don’t think she knows about the news I just think with all the pills you know how she is

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

Not being president does seen better than being president

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

No, no they don't get to do this shit again. They already tried this with Hillary. What exactly did she fucking say? She said nothing about Iran (Except that they shouldn't have a nuke) and she was insistent she wouldn't do anything differently about Israel.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Countries with nukes don't get to say another country shouldn't have nukes. Why don't you think they shouldnt have them then?

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

The implications there are obvious, western non proliferation has always just been a way to keep the third world down. But what gets me is that even the "opposition" pulls the WMD "We can't let the smoking gun be a mushroom cloud" shit and are still pretending they have moral superiority

[–] egs81t@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

I don't care about her at all, but this photo makes me angry for some reason. Maybe the levels of smugness is way too high.

[–] principalkohoutek@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago

Surely they know how annoying "told ya so" politics is

What, are they saying Trump should've done this Iran war earlier?

[–] VibeCoder@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Bit idea: start a Kamala Twitter that just loves war and is always posting edits of her saying the United States will have the strongest military in the world. Neocon Kamala

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

That's not a bad bit idea. Have it say things like Trump is soft on Iran and she would be bombing them even harder.

[–] dkr567@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I'm not surprised liberals forgot about this but it would've been the exact same shit (probably would've started the assault sooner and quieter for all we know).

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This isn't loading for me. Not sure if it's my phone or signal or the file, though.

liberals are always against the wars they aren't starting or in charge of.

look how deranged they get about Ukraine being de-prioritized.
