How very American to claim all cops are like their cops.

I assume that bad cops do exist everywhere but you should check on how london police are taught deescalation.

US and UK cops are not the same. Granted civilians don't usually carry guns over there but i have seen footage (sorry cant find it) where they dealt with a confused person holding a knife and they just calmly talked them into putting it down with no force whatsoever.

Its probably very country specific though, depending on both recruitment standards and amount of training.

It's actually pretty systemic across the world.

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Nah, plenty of places with enough decent cops to not have a broken system like in the US.

Like most of Europe for example.

Like most of Europe for example.

I know it's a meme, but she's... fictional. There's evil in the Pokemon universe, but is there institutional racism? I haven't seen it if so...

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 21 points 2 months ago

given that some Pokémon are intelligent enough to talk, yet are still treated like animals you can own and use for fighting other enslaved scient and sapient creatures.

I say that they might have something similar

It's been a long time, but wasn't she a dick to an innocent Squirtle trying to help the others?

So i thought you said “There isn’t evil” in the pokeverse and i am too far in trying to post this so enjoy.

“To denounce the evils of truth and love”

Sir samuel vimes would think that is the smartest thing he heard but is also his way of life

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)
