Israel’s government is issuing “clearly illegal” orders that must not be obeyed, a group of Israeli military intelligence officers have said, announcing they will no longer participate in combat operations in Gaza.

The intelligence officers said Netanyahu’s government had given a “death sentence” to the Israeli hostages held by Hamas militants in Gaza when it “chose to collapse” the ceasefire deal in March.

The group, which is understood to include members of the elite military surveillance division Unit 8200, claimed that “many hostages have already been killed by IDF bombings” and accused the government of continuing to “abandon their lives”.

Organised by the anti-war group Soldiers for the Hostages, the letter comes amid growing dissent within certain parts of the military over the continuation of the war in Gaza and an apparent increase in the numbers of soldiers who are refusing to fight.

Even when protesting the war they only care about their hostages.

Not saying they shouldn't care about them, but deliberately only caring about them and not the tens of thousands of Palestinian women and children they murdered speaks volumes.

It's a start.

Ironic how one day we're going to need Nuremberg Trials for a bunch of Jews.

Don't conflate Israelis and Jews, that's antisemitic

I would personally not be surprised if the October attack was an inside job with the terrorists secretly being sponsored to create an excuse for the present regime.

I have zero proof of course but the more clear it becomes they give zero fucks about human lives the more plausible this becomes.

You're ignoring the fact that under decades of occupation resistance is inevitable.

The October 7 operation or a similar event was inevitable, whether it be October 7 2024, this year, next year, or 5 years from now.

You are Partially right in that there is evidence Israel knew it was going to happen and allowed it.

You are also partially right in that "the terrorists" were state sponsored, in that a non-insignificant amount of the destruction was done by IDF soldiers performing "the Hannibal directive" and firing on their own people wildly.

You are absolutely wrong in the implication that Hamas was involved in an "inside job" or were "state sponsored". Or that them choosing not to do the Oct 7 operation specifically would have stopped the genocide that Israel had been planning long before Oct 7 happened.

Maybe i made a mistake in semantics because i never implied or suggested Hamas was anything other then an authentic movement

With “inside job” i mean that the growth of an authentic movement with the resources and intel to carry out an authentic attack could have been planned. So rather than letting it happen, subtly nudge them into having it happen. Maybe some planted intel.

If Israel was able to provide exploding pagers for Hamas without them knowing than why would they not be able to do so with anything else?

They are small shark versus powers that control the flow of the entire sea.

If it wasn't, they at least knew it was coming & deliberately allowed it to happen, then used the Hannibal directive to kill as many of their own citizens to profit from it

Hamas is the national liberation movement, you're an idiot

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I never said this included Hamas being informed by any of it.

Neither is it beyond current geopolitics to manipulate a movement to steer it to a desired goal.

Also “i would not be suprised” = / = believe that happened” i leave it at plausible.

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hamas denied 2 billion dollars to leave Gaza.

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Seems irrelevant. Hamas can be an authentic organisation, they can still be subject to manipulation.

In fact i would say the most successful type of manipulation is where people do something you want but believe they came up with the idea themselves.

Occupation force always reply by more force in any act of resistance
