What is the best place to find authentic on the ground live streams of protests? It was easy to find them during 2020 but now all I find it big news companies streaming and sometimes it's just rerun footage. I'm not trying watch social media personalities or mass media.

I would look to many. 2 of them are majors, but they seem legit. The last 2 are sketchy in that I have no idea who they are.

Associated Press: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXT945ZJNCI (shutdown) New one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXT945ZJNCI

Agenda-free TV (?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BrsI2vVHKA

AXN News (?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kmwdCmOkdQ

Edit:

Look beyond the smoke. Smoke is an easy way to make it look "scary."

Agenda free is alright in terms of not being a msm talking head... I watched him in 2020.

He has an alright channel, good for coverage on big events. Pretty straightforward. he mixes traditional media with social. He streams on Twitch too and Facebook, I think... Just ignore the chat for sanity lol. Also, he used to write for SNL!

Someone linked this to me last night, seems like a bunch of people all livestreaming the protest at the same time.

I spent the entire day on the Citizen app.

Hasanabi just streamed from the front line for like, 8 hours.

If youtube isn't giving the results you want, I would use https://inv.nadeko.net/. I can search "LA Live" I can find at least a few channels that aren't corporate like: "Dad's Gone Live", "Agenda Free Media", and also an associated press stream, but not sure if that's what you want.
