I've always wanted my house to look like a train station. It just needs the decorative hobo

If it is a mirror, WHERE IS THE PHOTOGRAPHER AAAAA

[–] Albbi@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 year ago

Looks like they "magic eraser"'d the camera and tripod. If you look at the back of the mirror bench you can see the foot of a tripod that wasn't erased.

Certainly over the top, but quite functional. They've placed the bar in the right spot, and none of the design choices affect the usability/renovatability of the space at least. The distance between the seats facing each other would make for an odd hang, though.

It looks to me like it was once designed to be a small venue where the stage was off to the left where the curved Wood flooring is then the bar was placed over there later. Reminds me of what a dive bar would do for a small stage for a DJ/Karaoke/small band type of thing. Seperation in the middle for a dance floor. And an easy access bar to get drinks. Maybe as they got older they stopped having bands and just left the speakers set up and they still dance there.

I'm giving far to much credit though. Probably just a weird design

What’s up with the carpet on the ceiling?

[–] Justas@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

I think it's actually a resin-corkwood board with a string of Christmas ornaments around it?

My partner said it is 70s whimsy

I personally like the streetlight. Just need to paint the ceiling dark and put dimmer lights in it. I even like the park bench.

I wouldn’t say the layout is bad. The furniture placement doesn’t really make sense. The major thing I’d change is the variety of colors/textures. The palette needs unifying. Beige brick on the walls, warm wood trim, concrete tiles, some kinda reddish marble on above the bar, that hedgehog looking stuff, the cherry flooring… Yeah, that’s a lot.

I agree with all this… it could work.

Reminds me the outdoors indoors celebrity barbecue from keeping up the appearances.
