Cautiously optimistic for the win tonight.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

Lmao Hali doing a no-look pass when it’s obviously a pass to Siakam.

[–] garretble@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Welp, I guess game seven it is, then, ha.

Ah fuck no.... that Haliburton injury doesn't look good. His calf muscles snapped.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

Definitely achilles. You could see it snap in the slow mo replay. Sigh.

Welp, I guess that’s it. What an anti-climactic ending. Teams can only wish refs called their defense the way they do OKC.

[–] Tugboater203@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Who's going to step up for the Pacers?

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Nembhard, Nesmith, TJ, and Toppin need to collectively step up.

[–] Tugboater203@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Turner needs to hit those 3s or start driving to the basket

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago

And free throws. Those missed FTs will haunt them if they end up being down only a couple of points late in the game.

I can't believe these fucking rejects are the people ESPN trots out for halftime show of game 7 of the NBA finals.

[–] rezz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

ESPN product is so horrific it is mind boggling. They have to be produced by reality TV wannabes at this point because that is what the editing feels like.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This is where you see Hali’s importance. Their offense suddenly stops moving when he’s out. TJ is a good backup and has helped them a ton, but he’s not as great a playmaker.

The fucking devil came to collect. Dammit this was supposed to be an epic game 7. I mean it still can be, but would’ve been much better with everyone healthy.

Today we find out if this is a series or not. Good luck fellas.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

End of 3Q. To be fair to the Pacers, even when they’re not playing well, they’re only (being generous here) down 19. Other teams would be down by 30+ by now when the Thunder do their avalanche runs.

[–] rezz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Tyrese also had like 3 points and 2 TO, must be a TO high for him at half. He will adjust in Indy.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah he definitely needs to be more aggressive. He started taking more shots in the 4th, but it was too late to make a run by then. Needs to be more active earlier in the game.

[–] rezz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Thunder learned their game one lesson and did not relent after that first run, kept the lid on.

The bench unit going hard exhausted the Thunder so now the Pacers starters are taking advantage of the tired OKC starters. This is what the Pacers needed, that bench production.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Halftime. Carlisle should keep the bench unit in when they’re cooking. Turner hasn’t really been great outside of the occasional 3 once a quarter. I also like how aggressive the Pacers are compared to the past 2 games. If refs won’t give them the same easy fouls as the Thunder, then they should just go hard and attack the paint.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago

Carlisle waited too long to bring in TJ back in 2nd half. He came in only at the end of 3rd.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 months ago

Bout time someone gave OKC a taste of their own medicine (suffocating defense).

[–] garretble@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Alright, Thunder, we gotta stay the course here and get this win.

[–] rezz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I am sad thunder noises.

I’m at a concert right now and there’s no tv at the bar lol. So I’m just checking the play-by-play. Looks like The Extender is doing his job based on what I’ve read.
