Not a lib.

China's economy is just like that of Palestine before the genocide started. Everybody knows this.

There were more really informative links too and totally not at all just making shit up with imaginary numbers:

lol China’s TFR is 0.6. There will not be a Chinese century. There may not even be a Chinese decade

cope

When I want unbiased information on Bad Country I always go to the Wall Street Journal, as they have no axe to grind as we all know.

I know a couple of people that are on this weird "China is secretly a failed state" shit, it's super delusional

[–] ZeroHora@lemmy.ml 4 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

At least with this some part of their brain accepted that China is fucking awesome and the brain worm is fighting that with "That's has to be a lie"

[–] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 7 points 20 hours ago

China's doing the inhumane one child policy!! Vs. China's doing the inhumane not having babies I plan to use as slaves!!

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 34 points 1 day ago (1 children)

inb4 the chinawatchers cant read mandarin (and USAID cuts meant their translators were fired) so when the files moved to a new website they just declared them "vanished".

[–] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 5 points 19 hours ago

The reds under my bed are hiding the soy sauce production figures 😱

[–] TheSpectreOfGay@hexbear.net 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

wait until they hear about america's actual youth unemployment rate

[–] kittin@hexbear.net 37 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Western governments: Growth in Pokémon sales in china was not linear between 1990 and 2020 therefore the gdp statistics must be made up

Also western governments: The unemployment rate should not include the long term unemployed and the inflation rate should not include the cost of energy & food or rent (90% of most people’s expenses)

One of the Stalin-holodmor-starvation-spoon stats was a decrease in melon output in Ukraine. The thing that's definitely a staple in Ukrainian diet and also not a crop that gets immediately rotated out for something cheaper when a famine starts.

projection

Most western countries use extremely warped methods for unemployment statistics to help pretend that it's an individual's fault they can't find good employment. The US frequently reports the U-3 category as 'unemployment', when U-6 is closer (and still underreported). The UK unemployment rate excludes people out of work for 4 weeks (and many other exceptions like 0-hour contracts, or outside circumstances obstructing them).

The true rates are almost always at least twice as high.

[–] CarbonScored@hexbear.net 10 points 23 hours ago

Shit, that suggests 5-6x higher than reported in the US. Certainly believable.

Anyone who fuesses about birthrate I assume is a pedophile. While this is oddly likely to be true I am just doing it to be toxic.

Might not be too far off. All these demented goblins who shriek about fertility rates want to use them as an excuse to rescind women's rights and bring back child marriage.

Steelmanning this by accepting it all as true:

God damn, witness the power of central planning to absorb shocks and shortagesxigma-male

china doesn't exist, i dunno why seppos get so mad about it. they live in number 1 country in the world and should tip their landlord and health insurance if they didn't use it that year

[–] FortifiedAttack@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago

The existence of China is just another one of those Chinese lies.

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 43 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Lmao I love it when they don't have any proof so they just make shit up. It makes it so obvious to me who the correct side is.

Unfortunately most people uncritically believe everything about China that is spread by western media/"independent" media

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 41 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Ah yes, important information like the size of elementary school toilets and soy sauce production

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 32 points 1 day ago (2 children)

soy sauce production

China suddenly cancelled all the soy imports from Burgerreich and instead is buying in Brazil now. Burgers are apparently really pissed about that since it was single biggest item in US exports to China and now agricorpos are losing money and are causing such hell in govt that even Polish news analysts are crying about that.

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I heard agristonks people saying it won't have a big impact cuz Brazil stock of soy isn't infinite so one way or the other the soy will flow, maybe just at a higher price overall.

But I don't know shit

I mean US govt will probably give them money anyway and they will just burn the soy. Soy isn't also the hardest thing to farm so i wouldn't be surprised if Brazil would be able to take those contracts entirely.

Also THE SOY MUST FLOW

[–] Alisu@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Stock of soy? Why are they talking as if 90% of Brazil's agro wasn't producing soy?

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (1 children)

That production already had a projected buyer before it was planted, some more of it can go to China instead of for example Philipines, but then Philipines will just buy the yank soy, simply at a higher price. It's like Russian oil and gas "ban", higher prices overall but no less production

[–] miz@hexbear.net 4 points 21 hours ago

commoditeez nuts

[–] theturtlemoves@hexbear.net 7 points 23 hours ago

Unfortunately this will lead to further deforestation in the Amazon.

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 21 points 1 day ago

The kids are taking bigger and bigger shits and the seeseepee doesn't want you to know about it.

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago

If my unemployed friends are anything to go by, those two things cannot be true at the same time.
