Anime is corporate dogshit of capital trying to milk revolutionary aesthetics.
Manga is pretty good with some dated problematic stuff.
Really? Why do you say that? I prefer newer seasons to older ones, I think it's quite hard to start it and get into it because the early stuff is pretty slow to get invested in.
The one piece anime by toei is a very horrible adaptation that ruins most of the series through poor pacing (1 chapter or even less per episode).
There is a community led project called one pace that redistributes a edited down version of the anime minus all the padding.
This is not directly related to what you said but the one piece anime is an example of capital subsuming all critiques of it.
Oda's writing has been inherently problematic in multiple areas, especially with his treatment of female characters and how Sanji is handled in general, not to mention Bonney's existence as a whole. Combine that with the awful pacing even in the manga these days, and the frankly garbage writing of most characters these days, as well as how bad the scope creep is. It just kinda spun out of control, at least in my opinion.
God forbid someone have a different opinion.
