The article is paywalled, but i would guess her info showed up in various "have i been pwned" databases, showing the same bad password for different sites over the course of years.

I too was reluctant to read a Wired article bc in the past they've often been clickbait/shallow, but it looks like the last couple months they've been doing quality journalism.
