After you play enough Geoguessr you learn what every part of america looks like. The green forested hills and american pickup trucks everywhere give away the approximate region; the Weigels (found on a list of USA gas station chains) is apparently unique to one city; and the Executive Inn makes the last pinpointing step much easier.
The overabundance of trucks, the slightly off bumper on the truck on the right, overhead lines just going everywhere... what is the opposite of AI going sentient? I think you got sucked into the shitty matrix.
I mean, it would explain a lot if I were to find out the machines built this town for the express purpose of being just shitty enough to keep you down without making it so shitty you kill yourself trying to leave...
