"Few creatures of the night have captured our imagination like vampires.
What explains our enduring fascination with vampires? Is it the overtones of sexual lust, power, control? Or is it a fascination with the immortality of the undead?"

Feel free to post any vampire-related content here. I'll be posting various vampire media I enjoy just as a way of kickstarting this community but don't let that stop you from posting something else. I just wanted a place to discuss vampire movies, books, games, etc.

I'm trying to kickstart this community by posting various vampire movies; some obscure, some classics. This is definitely a classic. To the point that I don't know what else to say about it. It's great, go watch it. It makes being a vampire fun and exciting (not just old aristocrats in castles!) while also having kids going on an adventure (Corey Feldman and Corey Haim at their peak). The effects are perfectly 80s, the dialogue is perfectly 80s, the action is perfectly 80s. I don't know what else to say if you haven't seen it. Here's a trailer.

What else do you need to know?...

"Second shelf is mine. That's where I keep my root beers and my double-thick Oreo cookies. Nobody touches the second shelf but me."

His last line is one of best of all time. If you don't remember it, that's enough reason for a rewatch.

I bought the soundtrack on vinyl. I wore out the soundtrack on vinyl.

Good thing I still have the cassette!

Crrrryyyyyy Little sister!

The sound track was one of the first 3 CDs I bought when I got a boom box with a CD player in 8th grade, other 2 were No Doubt Tragic Kingdom, and Green Day Dookie.

Vomitron and Anneke did an amazing cover of that song.

We searched the city high and low for the CD. Took a long time to find one in stock.

CD? Crap! Another thing to buy. Do you think it comes in 8-track?

One of my wife's favorites.

Last year, she made a hilarious christmas card with 'I still believe' and saxophone guy with Santa flying overhead.

Aaaand now that song is stuck in my head.

Because of this post, I played the kids at my school a couple of songs from the soundtrack, and they almost unanimously agreed that "I Still Believe" is the best. Never would have guessed.

Saw this movie way too young. There is a snapshot in my mind of a bald head being bitten into like an apple, spraying blood into the night.

Heck of a show. Plus, sexy saxophone dude. Worth thr price of admission.

Damn, major spoiler right in the poster.

Got my first BJ while watching this movie. Highschool GF was so nervous and she wanted to have me watching a movie the first time so she would feel less pressure. Being the average horny highschooler I happily obliged. Well her braces ended up somehow cutting the entire length of my dick at some point. She was petrified and I was trying to tell her it was alright and keep her calm (it really wasn't that bad) because she was making too much noise freaking out about cutting me and I was worried the she was going to alert her father into investigating since he required her door stay open when I was over.

Honestly I don't even remember the movie much. I can't imagine why.

Just re-watched this last month. It has aged really well, still super watchable. Incidentally, one of the main soundtrack songs “Cry Little Sister” by Gerard McMann was recently covered by Ashbury Heights . IMO I like the new version more.

I've walked over the train trussle so many times. Was cool to see a movie filmed in my childhood hometown.
