“I don’t think he’s doing it for the money,” Sununu said

I actually agree. He's doing it for the power. The money is just a bonus

The richest man in the world didn't become so via altruism and charity.

He has interests and those definitely conflict.

Him being too wealthy to have conflicts of interest suggests that he’s comfortable where he’s at financially, and isn’t trying to further enrich himself through government channels. But we’ve all seen how capitalism works and it has zero ceiling. It continues to amass wealth regardless of anything, and Musk is doing the same.

This strikes me as just another bootlicker yelling “pick me!” from the sidelines.

No way, dot yachts is a TLD? Lmao awesome domain name.

[–] orca@orcas.enjoying.yachts 4 points 1 month ago

Thanks lmao. Never thought I’d own the domain enjoying.yachts and I’ve owned a ton of domains. I initially tried to get sinking.yachts but it’s taken. I also own guillotine.club but am still working on a use for it.

He has many private interests that are very directly affected by the government, the most egregious one being fucking spacex.

I have seen the take from conservatives that "the ultra-rich don't need anything directly from you, so they can't be corrupt!" which is either breathtaking naivety or just lying.

i think this is a rewarmed argument. they used to use it to explain why only landowners could vote and/or be elected.

Sununu is consistently a piece of shit; no surprise here. He's the main reason why NH doesn't have legal cannabis.

[–] 4am@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Of all places that I thought would be first on the list, too. Nearly everyone I know in NH is or has been a pothead, its popular AF there

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Not to mention that NH is surrounded on all sides by legal recreational cannabis: Vermont, Maine, Canada, and Massachusetts all have it. And NH is such a thin state that you're probably not an hour's drive away from it at any time.

He is either just running narrative interference or Sununu is a fucking moron.

I have learned, there are people who make alot of money, who aren't greedy. I have also learned you almost never hear about them because they have either a. spent all their wealth or b. don't make the news because they aren't greedy and psychotic.

This is to say, if they have money, and you are hearing about them on the news, chances are they are greedy. No amount of tangible or intangible wealth will be enough for people like him, take Rockefeller for example.

[–] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago

He has only conflict.

We can as well choose him as the Potentate of the world, then we will get peace...

I think I know how that story goes.

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

Fuck off governor snusnu

The only reason we know this guy's name is because he is obscenely rich.

If you think this attention grubbing whore will not do anything at any cost to retain that, I've got a bridge to lease to you.
