Today is for cleaning and wrapping presents
That's how I'm coping with my stress levels. Chipping away at odd tasks. That's my healthy coping mechanism anyway ๐ Later there will be alcohol
I thought a bunch of cheese on my mini pizza hadn't melted yet. Turned out to be pineapple.
Making good, but very slow progress in rearranging the abode.
Interesting thing is that while the couch is in a weird place, itโs opened up the space so much, I still canโt get over it whenever I walk through the door.
Still have a fair bit of crap to sort out though.
Meanwhile, my dirty little secret of the month is the amount of cheesy Christmas shows Iโm devouring.
I now want to find the most Christmassy place to partake in the most cheesiest Christmas things I can do. ๐
I just saw the forecast for Boxing Day. Oh Dear.
Not a good day for being at the cricket. Or being a firefighter quite probably.
I will be far away from the cricket, but the second problem is a concern. Oh well, at least I get public holiday penalty rates. And I just talk to the firefighters, I don't have to go out there and fight the fires myself. I'm pretty sure my heat tolerance is so low I'd die of heat exhaustion just putting on the turnout gear.
today's achievements
โ
Spent an inordinate amount of time and money buying very fancy clothes for my cousins kid whose birthday I'll miss and will be moving away for good before I get back from my second trip. I know her mum loves this shit but they haven't been managing finances that well so this will be appreciated and kept in good nick, sold on when kid outgrows them. It's more than I would spend on myself for clothes! At least that's two xmases/new years covered and I won't have to spend on that family again for a very long time.
โ Went to mks for xmas cooking supplies: jar of chopped up banana blossoms, and maldive fish chips to combine with for a SL style stir fry; and a jar of innala yams for a garlicky curry with ground mustard. Also snacks and a box of prawn noodles.
โ Then to a friends place to wash out a bunch of pots and planter boxes to take home and list on fb marketplace - exhausted the fuck out of me, I am so unfit it's not funny. She might have to move sooner than i thought next year and i may need a new home for some plants if another aunty doesn't get back :( may need to ask around my colleagues. Or take up Bottom_racer's offer...
โ Then Leo's for fancy choccies (bank balance is looking dire by now)... and fancy Kew woolies for nice instant coffee and bikkies and crackers for trip...
โ Vicky G Coles for 2x gift vouchers...
โ then HOME for a cold drink, shower and a lie down.
I think I will do my strategy of working a bit tomorrow so I can have a breather on Tuesday to cook and wash up. Definitely not driving on Wednesday. Also realised they put only one of my two discount items as discounted at the Expensive Kids Clothes Store - I'm going straight back tomorrow even though it's a bitch to park, that dress was expensive enough on discount let alone full price! Harrumph.

Cat TMI, vomit/poo
Called the vetโฆ They booked us in for Monday and said if she keeps vomiting then stop the antibiotics.
[deleted for Melbcatโs privacy/dignity] โฆYeah.
And after a little extra pain relief her ears are no longer hot and sheโs acting less painy, not reacting when I touch them.
Safe to say sheโs probably had another reaction to the augmentin. I think Iโm going to stop the antibiotics, keep her on the anti nausea stuff and give a little extra pain relief between normal times until she can get seen.
Found bibs at the supermarket so they came yesterday. Very cute but already being tested by spat out medicine. Melbcat is not pleased :(
I also found what looks like cabbage moth eggs on the nasturtium seedlings. That was fast. I put them out for part of the day yesterday. First time theyโve been out.
Edit: Another male flower. I have 8 cut male flowers in the fridge, one fertilised female and the rest of the females are barely forming.
The ratio and timing is so off Iโm afraid these plants are a little bit silly
nasturtiums are what I plant to attract the moths away from the lettuce
and moths and butterflies need something to eat too ๐
I have lady bugs on the jalapenos which is awesome ๐๐ถ๏ธ๐
I have nasturtiums rambling around under the raspberries for that reason. Although the raspberries seem to have a lot of other bugs this year - which the currawongs are enjoying.
I've been enjoying watching the young currawong, it's still a bit uncoordinated in its attempts to snare bugs. It is also quite fascinated by the kinetic sculpture - it spent a bit of time pulling at it to make the whole thing move.
Aaannnnndddd, I still have not made it back home.
Two wheels and freedooooom!
(Maybe a slight embellishment. Am now awaiting brunch. Yeah, I know itโs well after lunch, but I still call it brunch.)
Also had to do an embarrassing manual 20 point turn to pull the bike up onto the footpath to get it out of the no standing area. But I worked for my brunch then!
Dragged my sorry arse out of bed to get the chain adjusted on one of the bikes.
Have to admit, while I feel like arse, the weather is gorgeous this morning.
