Only a quarter? Who are they trying to advertise to at this point? Neo-Nazis?

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 30 points 1 year ago

Neo Nazis need gold coins too!

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 5 points 1 year ago

"We buy gold" ... "with bitcoin"

is that a thing yet? let me just open a Xitter account real quick ...

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

$2B of advertising, even.

The other three quarters are just scared that Elom will sue them if they cut advertising.

(Not really. I suspect many of the other 75% just aren't willing to admit they're planning to loosen ties with Twitter (I will not call it "X") just yet.)

[–] remotelove@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Just call it X-Twitter. It ain't twitter any more, and "X" is just dumb as fuck.

Xitter. Pronounced Shitter

[–] Buford_T_Justice@reddthat.com 1 points 1 year ago

I wasn't sure how to pronounce xi. I have been calling it sheeeter like Ren from Ren and stimpy.

What you’re refering to as Twitter, is in fact, X/Twitter, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, X plus Twitter...

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 2 points 1 year ago

I use newsgroups btw

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

the rest will just call it unplanned

We forgot to renew our contract

Musk knows he can’t hurt the big companies in court, that’s why he’s mostly suing small non-profit watch dogs.

elons gonna rebrand it y next because y do people even bother with it

[–] bender223@lemmy.today 3 points 1 year ago

Oh noes! eLon gonna sue them! 😮

[–] ohwhatfollyisman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

well, if you sever a quarter of X, particularly the south-east one, you're left with y.

looks like another rebranding exercise is in the mix?

So they noticed that it is time to get out of the bog before they start to stink?
