Actually meeting a friend for dinner tomorrow who had top surgery after having already had a career, a spouse, children, a divorce and transition into stable co-parenting (kind of a joke since friend bought a house right next to a ranch when they moved out here) and an entirely different career.

You'll have more and less on your plate over time, but there's never gonna be a more opportune time than right now to start living openly (provided you're in a support structure and environment where you can do so safely)

Yeah, it's a pretty big step, but it's never too late afaik. Last I was involved in anything there isn't a hard age limit, only health limits. You might have a harder time finding a surgeon once you're in your seventies, but it wouldn't be hard, just not quite as easy in comparison.

I've been the helper monkey for a few friends post surgery (top and bottom, men and women), and the one friend was almost 50 when he finally got everything lined up. It can take slightly longer to recover as you age, but we're talking a few days to a week extra, not any kind of crazy time.
