Y'all know of any other FOSS clients for Spotify other than Spotube? It's rather slow for me the times I've used it, so here I am asking for alternatives. Would be using it on my Android phone. Cheers!

RiMusic, you can find it on F-droid

Does it call google servers or is it proxied like piped?

[–] gregor@gregtech.eu 1 points 2 years ago

Directly from YouTube music.

RiMusic is great, but I think it's YT Music client and not Spotify. You should give it a go anyway!

So it's not possible to access my Spotify library on it then?

Unfortunate. I'll have to give Spotube another go then!

There's Spotiflyer in the F-Droid store

Muffon. It’s not a Spotify Client but it does play music that comes from Spotifys library along sides Deezer etc. It’s super good imo, I don’t even have a Spotify subscription anymore due to it, cuz it’s that good, thought you can only use it on PC/Laptop atm though.

I’ve been using Hyperpipe though for a while on my phone, which has a PWA, which has been working super well since BeatBump started to not work for me, alongside teething problems with using Spotube.

There was Blackhole player too but that been dead for a long while now.

Hate to say it but Spotube is utter crap. It's way too slow to be usable for me.

Do you really hate to say it? I have a feeling you actually enjoy it s little.

That's what I've been experiencing too.

Greyjay has a spotify plugin you can enable in the sources tab but I've never used it so i can't give a review of it

Would really recommend InnerTune. Tho it isn't a spotify client as it gets the music from yt music.
