Stroll’s gap to his teammate is as large as most of the rookies on the grid to their respective teammates. But yea, his dad owns the team…what can be done. Money is privilege.

what can be done.

His promotion out of the race seat and into a super important management position.

Introducing the new Aston Martin Team Principal!

Lance isnt interested in that. If they take him out of that seat at some point, it will probably be to transfer to another series as driver. IndyCar or Nascar, I'd guess.

The Strolls are now Astons weakest links, one being the underperforming driver, and the other, not likely to replace said underperforming driver...for obvious reasons....

Yes and no. Stroll’s money is also responsible for Alonso being the strong link…

Still has the best seat security of anyone on the grid after Verstappen.

No kidding... It's one thing to have a pay-driver as a backmarker, but I was really hoping they would get serious about their driver lineup now that they have a competitive car.

I was extremely disappointed to see Stroll all the way at the back of the grid. He's really holding AM back.

I know he only got one FP, but he's an F1 veteran at this point (7th season). I don't buy missing out on FP as an excuse, especially at this type of circuit. AM isn't suited for Monza, but he was a whole .800 off Alonso in Q1 for Pete's sake.

Back when he raced for Williams he used to pay the team for a private practice sessions complete with race engineers and performance coach on the circuits he was due to race on (at least those that could accommodate him) in an older car that was legal so he could get extra laps in. Yes this is as expensive as it sounds, and yes he footed the bill not the team. Put this in perspective Mick couldn't even get a proper simulator at Haas. I seem to remember Lance going better at those circuits than those he couldn't get the extra practice in.

I just feel he needs a huge amount of time to learn how to setup and race a particular circuit, probably because he is being extensively coached. All drivers have help with setup and their laps, at least the majority if not all of the drivers consult external coaches, lots of them including Lance and Lewis have used Rob Wilson, but its the lack of progress with Lance that is worrying. He has had much more than most and still not moved forwards.
