Something something “the average household income during the Great Depression when adjusted for inflation was ~$65k, and today it is only ~$65k-$54k depending on where in the US you live.”

"if I drink coffee then I won't be hungry for several hours at least!"

nowadays my hunger pangs just go away on their own. I don't even like to eat when I'm hungry anymore, the discomfort detracts from the food, so I wait till the hunger goes on its own and then eat (if I still remember)

Wow I literally did that second one. I also googled a lot of "what's the most amount of slow release calories I can eat for the least amount of money"

Potatoes and milk are nutritionally complete if you can digest dairy.

Wow. I guess that explains why I eat so much mash and drink so much milk.

Thanks. I hope that helps some people out in the comments. I'm luckily 15 years on from my student poverty days and proud to say I can afford AT LEAST two meals a day now without issue. #Progress

Les trois mousquetaires from Alexandre dumas has a line where it says "who sleeps has a dinner, and thus Athos had a feast this night"
