I'm far from vegetarian but I've completely stopped eating octopus. Those things are freaky smart and honestly most people/restaurants can't cook them well enough to even have a flimsy selfish justification for eating them.

Pigs definitely are and you shouldn't eat them, but intelligence is a weird way to judge whether a life deserves consideration.

The only pertinent question is surely if they suffer.
