Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

U.S. President Donald Trump seemingly discussed the idea of foreign powers taking out California’s most populated cities while delivering a speech at a Republican rally at the Pinnacle Bank Expo in Grand Island, Nebraska Monday evening.

“With the war it’s just artificial, it’s a little bit high, it’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They could take out a city. Let ‘em take out Los Angeles. Let ‘em take out San Diego,” Trump said, drawing cheers from the crowd. “This is a very small price to pay and it’s going to be over very soon. It’s essentially almost over with.”

Every time I think my faith in humanity couldn't be shaken further, I find ways to be surprised.

It's a crowd that would actually go to a Trump rally in 2026. Don't hinge your faith in humanity on self selected bad people.

[–] mystik@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is anyone doing any kind of facial recognition on any of the shots of the crowds that get out? Any bets on how many in the crowd are part of the traveling circus?

[–] Murse@slrpnk.net 34 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He has enough evil fucks who fully support his attacks on the US that he doesn't need a traveling circus.

We very much have a Nazi problem.

👨‍🚀🔫🧑‍🚀

And we always have

I dunno. I lose faith in humanity just for the fact there are still people going to his rallies

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

We should be tracking every person who still attends a Trump rally. They are future terrorists.

It’s easier to get through the day if you just don’t consider him a human

True, but we need to. We need to consider him human so we know exactly what we are and we have to look this shit in the face if we ever want to fix it.

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Him or most of his supporters

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 3 points 3 days ago

Either would do. Or both.

[–] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I’m not sure why some palaver from a Republican event would affect your feelings about humanity - there’s no humanity involved.

Am I the only one who thinks that maybe he accidentally disclosed their October surprise?

Could this government be planning something for No Kings protests on October 17th?

I try not to attribute to malice things that are easily explained by stupidity.

The guy wants to be putin, and the administration demonstrated multiple times they have no issues with killing Americans.

Epstein himself wrote:

recall ive told you " i have met some very bad people " none as bad as trump. not one decent cell in his body.. so yes- dangerous

And fucking Epstein was a monster himself.

Your assumption is good for judging people we don't know, but we know him very well. During the pandemic he found a way to enrich himself. During Venezuela he bombed fishermen (never provided evidence to the accusation) so he liked innocent people only to create excuse to amass Navy in that region to do the operation. And now that dust settled all of our was to basically steal their oil.

He really is the Katniss Everdeen of Presidents.
