Meh, I'll start with the '30s. I feel we need a little more buffer from the late 1900s.
I still keep forgetting it's a quarter of the way into the 21st century already. I keep thinking it's still like 2002 or something. I think we need to get away from all the 2's in the dates before I'll start to recognize the new century as independent from the 20th century.
Fair, the past two decades just don't have the same "ring" as "the 20's" or any of the next ones. I still remember people realizing that they never really knew what the "20's/30's/etc" naming for the first decade of the 1900's after the 90's ended. I feel like local news and other media made points to tell people "the noughties/oughts". So much attention really put on the simple shortening of everything after "20's" last century. Even "the teens" just doesn't have the same "ring" to it, and since 10-12 aren't "teens".
