“You haven’t asked me one fucking positive question,” he said. “All of this. What about this? What about that? What about that? What about this? All negative.”

The president had been asked about whether Mitch McConnell should resign from the Senate because of his health issues. Trump responded by indicating that videos of McConnell struggling were a “disappointment to a lot of Republicans,” before noting that “Sleepy Joe gave pardons to everybody.” He then exploded, questioning why they were asking about the White House renovations so much, and griping that they hadn’t asked him about Venezuela. Time pointed out that they talked about Venezuela at length earlier in the interview.

“I don’t understand. I’m sitting here. I’ve done all this stuff,” Trump said. “I took the White House and made it beautiful again.”

Here's a positive question about his deeds that a reporter should ask:

Mr. President, how good did it feel to rape children?

I just want to see one of these reporters, or anyone really, break decorum and just go off on this motherfucker to his face. He’s just a big fucking coward when it comes down to it. He just never has to confront it, and that’s a shame.

If theres one thing Bush Jr could do, it was dodge those shoes

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

W dodged those shoes like someone who'd had shoes thrown at them before.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dodged those shoes like the only president dumber than him dodged the draft

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You think W was dumber than Ford?

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

I would have to think about that one... I honestly forgot about Gerald Ford. You know who didn't forget about Gerald Ford? Tom Brokaw.

I was actually pretty impressed at his reflexes, TBH. Not that the job really requires it (or it usually doesn't), but he was pretty nimble there.

I think donnie would take it full in the face and not even know what happened, since he's about half-asleep all the time. Dozey donnie, they call him. Everyone's saying.

Shoes, pretzels, parachuting to his own premature victory party... That man survived a lot of self-inflicted danger.

I hated Bush’s guts, but I had to admit: that was impressive. Kind of like Wendi Deng thwarting the would-be pie-thrower

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Also pretty impressive was the Iraqi foreign minister blocking the second shoe. Quick reflexes

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

Trump knows how to dodge the draft.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

At least Bush was fast enough to dodge it. I’m pretty sure Trump would have a Amberjack logo pressed into his forehead.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Yeah. And he'd probably doze off right after....

[–] moldy_rice@piefed.keyboardvagabond.com 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He gets booed anytime he's in public.

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I’m sure he’s so acclimated to that, that he doesn’t even hear it anymore. I’m talking about an aggressive, in-his-face, in-his-safe-place, insilting verbal confrontation.

Seriously. What are they going to do, kick them out of the White House Press Pool?

Oh wait....
