People who like Futurama and want more: "yay!"

I'm happy that other people are happy.

People who like Futurama and don't want more: "boo!"

Y'all realize you can just not watch the new stuff?

"How else will I get my daily quota of blood boiling? This suggestion makes me angry!"

Your lyrics lack subtlety, you can't just have characters announce how they feel! That make me angry!

This has what bugs me. People don't watch the new stuff AND complain about the new stuff.

I watch the new stuff, it's got good episodes, it's got bad episodes, and it's got just fine episodes. We've got three Futurama specials to look forward to. Maybe they'll be good, maybe bad, maybe just fine. I'm looking forward to finding out.

I dunno it’s just weird to see the corpse of something I loved paraded around.

I’m not gonna go crazy over it but leaving a quick “this kinda sucks” on a message board is low effort.

Right?! More is ALWAYS better when it comes to things you love. No exceptions. If you stop enjoying it, stop watching it, but don't yuck everyone else's yum because it's not for you. Some (most) people are so conceited and like to moan when their quality levels aren't met.

Counting down until Futurama is labeled 'slop'...

I stopped watching after a few episodes of season 8. It felt like it lost its way. So I'm fine just rewatching season 1-7 and the movies.

Then you're missing out on some great episodes

[–] daddycool@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I've peaked in from time to time to confirm I wasn't missing out.

[–] Anti_Iridium@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

What does that mean? You literally skimmed an episode?

[–] daddycool@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Why does it matter how I decide what shows I like? If you enjoy it, good for you. I don't understand why some people get offended if others dislike something they enjoy. It's not like I'm telling you to stop enjoying it.

It's not like I'm telling you what shows you should like. All I said is:

Then you’re missing out on some great episodes

All I wanted to understand is what you meant by:

I’ve peaked in from time to time to confirm I wasn’t missing out.

I think there's something especially offensive about it for Futurama.

Part of the show's legend is that it kept coming back. Every time it was cancelled it found a way to come back, tell more story, be clever, and then get cancel-blasted again.

The Time-loop ending on the last cancellation felt like the show didn't get cancelled. It completed it's story. It was a goodbye and not an 'until next time'. Bringing it back on Hulu feels like a slap to that legacy. It takes what was very real show history and makes it a cynical cash grab by Hulu corporate.

as if they got to take the fact that the show fought it's way back so many times and are now puppeting it's corpse like Weekend at Bernie's. "look guys it came back again isn't that fun?"

I'm not going to shit on anyone for wanting to keep watching. I just see it now and it makes me sad. So I don't watch.
