Just because he isn't commiting political suicide by making your cause, which affects less than 1% of the population, the PRIMARY issue in his campaign in TEXAS, doesn't mean he hates trans people. Everything else he supports is moral, it's safe to assume that his representation of trans people will be moral, too.
The First Rule of Politics is to Get Elected. He can't do that in Texas by making negligible issues his top priority. Once he's elected, he will be supporting trans issues, and if he doesn't, primary him in his reelection.
He already said he doesn't support trans people, that he wants to ban us from bathrooms and sports, andd that he wants us not to smoke any weed.
It's not that it isn't his main issue, it's that he immediately put us on the chopping block.
Sources? He’s been a legislator in Texas for eight years and his voting record is consistently pro-trans and pro-cannabis.
Every election cycle there are fresh waves around Lemmy (often from tankie servers) to discourage voting and do a "both sides" show.
They often have a point, but largely miss the forest for the trees.
