And none of his followers think anything about the potential annihilation of a whole country. Truly despicable. At least they'll keep each other company in Hell.

I remember when i was a kid my mom would say shit like "we wouldn't be in a war if we just bombed the shit out of them til there was nothing left." They dont see the people living in the middle east as people, they didnt 15 years ago and they dont now. there is zero empathy and its disgusting

It's just the natural continuation of a mentality that allowed "people" to come to a different land, rape and murder everyone in sight, settle in the graveyard they filled themselves, and still call themselves people, supported by God even. Nothing new, but the fact it's been over 200 years and it's still prevalent enough that Trump, the figurehead of Western imperialism and white supremacy, has over 30% approval rate, makes it all very sad. But John Brown existed, so I keep my hopes up that one day, God willing, humanity and the desire for peaceful coexistence will settle in the heart of "radical" Westerners.

Every people has some black stains on their past...but it really seems like white people are the last ones to realize it.

We (white people) are the bad guys.

There's been lots of bad guys, but for the past millenia or so, white people have been and continue to be the worst.

We're #1?

I guess what we have to accept is that if we're not the bad guys, then someone else is and then we are the oppressed. So we can't just forfeit being the world's assholes, because somebody else will do it to us!

In my opinion, wealth is the primary driving factor of that. Exploitation and abuse of the bottom by the top seems to occur in nearly every culture that doesn’t put in strict safeguards to neuter the privileged.

The British empire dominated so much of the globe that the white elites advanced to the Olympic level of exploitation, but if we blame it on their color alone, we are leaving the back door open for other ghoulishly rich groups to stand in their place.

I believe the real issue is the aristocratic class. In England, it was determined by heredity, and in America, it is determined by money, but the kind of person who inhabits that role is the same: mean spirited selfish assholes who fundamentally believe they are better than everyone else and that they deserve to get everything they want because the average Joe is inferior to them in every way. They think normal people serve no purpose unless they are serving the needs of an elite.

That attitude strikes me as profoundly anti-human, and I think they should be treated as what they are: a predator that threatens the entire species who must be eliminated for the common good.

Why take this to a racial place?

Dozens of African warlords with their private armies of child soldiers would like a word with you.

The only reason they're not doing this on a global scale is that colonialism has crippled those countries for centuries, so their stolen wealth is running western countries now.

Make no mistake, human malice knows no bounds of skin color or religion.

In the 80s, Americans sported "Bomb Japan Again" bumper stickers. So being cunts is not new.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fucking boomers need to die already

That's why they're speed-running the surveillance state. The billionaires know full well the Overton window is about to shift on them.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

That's why they want all those massive AI data centers: they're going to implement fully integrated, pervasive surveillance, and knowing the evil fuckers who are pushing hardest for it, it will not benefit us in any way, it will be used as a tool of oppression.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

damn, just imagine if instead of doing that, they’d exhibited some solidarity(I’m assuming it’s about manufacturing jobs related to cars)?

I bet if Americans had held strikes in response to layoffs OR chosen not to buy foreign cars back then, today their unions would be stronger and their cars wouldn’t be so… wasteful (in many ways). Sure does suck to suck.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world -4 points 1 week ago

I had a boss who said the solution to the middle east is to nuke it. I thought he was kidding at first, but I don't think he really was.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Trump supporters are selfish people. The fact millions of innocent people would die is less important to them than the fact it will increase the price they pay at the pump

At least they're upset with the war because of gas prices, I guess

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At least they'll keep each other company in Hell.

It must be nice to believe this.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It is! But how I feel about it doesn't make it any more or less true. And likewise, I try to behave in ways to avoid the same ending, even if it means less hedonistic enjoyment and material comfort.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone -3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

No offense, but what a stupid way to live your life.

Actually, I dunno why I said "no offense."

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm sure many rich and powerful people agree with you. 🤷‍♂️

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I would say "rational people" is more accurate. Being rich and powerful is not relevant at all is it?

Most of the rich and powerful people who are currently ruining the US agree with you that hell exists, by the way.

Are we really gonna sit here and pretend that Christian nationalist don't believe in hell? Give me a break.

The entire concept of hell exists to control people like you.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can be a rational person and be entirely immoral and self serving. And idk what those people believe in, they're extremely confused, the worst form of Trinitarianism is the one that denies God's judgment and I guess that's what they're about? "Jesus forgave my sins so I can colonize, murder and rape with impunity"? They can say they "believe in God" in whatever way they want the same way a wife beater can rationalize it as love and passion, doesn't mean it makes any sense.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 1 week ago

You can be a rational person and be entirely immoral and self serving.

I never said nor implied anything different

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, what a rube! They have beliefs that bring them comfort and that compel them to treat others well. So stupid.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah I'm the weird one for caring about believing things that are true.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It’s weird that you’re shitty to people for their beliefs. If those beliefs bring them comfort and help them treat others well, you benefit from them. You can value true beliefs in your own life and while choosing your immediate circle, and if you really want to spread it to the wider public, you could advocate for it instead of intentionally offending people for being different from you.
