It's ridiculous that you basically have to make a hospital over a million dollars while earning nothing before you can even begin to pay off your loans. Worse than that for specialists. I'm not in it but I have friends that went through it and you basically lose your 20s to be comfortable in your 40s.

Yeah, I think the average md would probably be billing anywhere from 2-4 million a year for a hospital. Residents would likely be generating even more considering the brutal schedules some hospitals demand of them.
