american leftists sadly often still cling to perceiving race as a supposed inherent biological characteristic, a belief probably caused by how ingrained this notion is in american "society", with race even still being a category used in government documents.

in reality, there is literally zero scientific evidence for the concept of biological race; in fact, there is countless evidence against such notions. "race" is a social construct created to facilitate colonial and class oppression, not a biological reality! the targets of racist oppression are not universal across time and geography.

people should try to avoid falling into the pitfalls of thinking that the problem with reactionary "analysis" is merely that it targets the wrong people, as the entire right-wing mode of perceiving reality is flawed from start to finish! white people participating in racist oppression is the result of their material conditions informing their class perspective, not some inherent and immutable (pseudo-)biological traits!

side note, and in no way me accusing op of any of this, but this kind of essentialist thinking is exactly how phenomena like liberal zionism manage to arise! if one forgoes material analysis and instead operates on a pre-conceived (and never questioned) notion of jews being "good people", one becomes more likely to deny or rationalise away colonial and settler violence.
