speaking to my chinese colleagues they have much more hope for the future and i have told them i am envious of this.

we are missing a future that's been taken from us

There's a reason this image (made from real thumbnails) has become a meme, because there's an entire "China is about to collapse!!" grifting industry out there that pumps out nothing but videos like this about China's supposed imminent collapse, based on nothing but misinformation and wishful thinking. When you have an audience that desperately wants it to be true, it's easy money. They continue to move the goalposts and dates every time their absurd predictions don't happen, because it's complete nonsense.

If you fall for this, you might as well follow Gordon Chang, who is a far-right anti-China hawk who has been predicting China's collapse for over 25 years, and keeps moving the date every year.

If you fall for this it’s embarrassing. Clickbait nonsense for an audience incapable or unwilling to do any critical thinking.

Remindme! 10 years

E: This channel is literally pumping out 4-5 videos every single day. I strongly suspect AI slop.

deflation in western context sounds like a bad thing, but deflation might could be an alternative interpretion of "holy shit everything is more affordable now!!!"

Wow here's a youtube channel that's depicts China in a positive light so you must be wrong

https://www.youtube.com/@BarrettYT/videos

How about instead of relying on random youtube videos we look at some hard evidence? like the fact that the main reason that global poverty as fallen in the past decades is because of China? per the UN and other sources: https://www.undp.org/china/blog/what-changes-after-china-defeats-poverty https://americanaffairsjournal.org/2022/02/how-china-defeated-poverty/ https://tradingeconomics.com/china/gdp-growth-annual

Or that compared to other powers their actually making a concerted effort to transition towards renewable energy: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-8d2b6944-4f7a-45b4-96fd-2d92499ff97d The Emerging US-China Energy Rivalry: Fossil Power vs Renewable Energy: https://rsis.edu.sg/rsis-publication/rsis/co26116/

Or that compared to the US ~30 miles of true(over 155mph) high speed rail, while China has over 31,000 miles and is continually building more and replacing older lines https://www.thetimes.com/world/asia/article/how-china-built-more-high-speed-rail-than-everyone-else-combined-cv0z5mljc

Then again China doesn't have a 'Hyperloop' that takes you from one side of a convention center to another so yeah guess they're declining
