It’s not just throwing trans people under the bus, it’s the Pavlovian pivot to the right. Further proof that liberalism doesn’t really believe in anything, there’s no hills it will die on, it’s all machinations for the sake of machinations, no goal they’re in service of.
there are absolutely hills liberalism will die on. they're committed to the status quo only ever shifting right and will instinctively circle the wagons if something to their left appears
