Aren't you socially ostracized if you don't use iphones in America, a move pushed by Apple itself so people feel required to own an iphone?
I fully believe you on this, but I’m morbidly curious about reading more.
And yes, people will somehow look down on you for not using Apple.
If you have an Android phone you will often be omitted from group chats because then you have a green text bubble instead of blue. If you are on the group chat they will bring up your green bubble constantly.
That only happens if you're chatting with assholes. If you find yourself in a group chat with assholes, just leave.
they make the green box harder to read to reinforce this petty bullshit
My sister-in-law lives in Orange County and has Orange County consumerism brain.
She's harmless. It doesn't bother me because I know she doesn't know jack about tech.
I mean tbf RCS is a fucking dumpster fire, often RCS will just drop you from the chat all on its own
Yeah I have so many duplicate chats because of weird shit like this.
There's a lot more news articles on this, but I can't be bothered get all of them, but heres one from wsj https://archive.is/fMMzX
This is only in particular social groups. Mainly school age children - almost all of them use iOS. Yet still it’s about 50-50 for the nation overall, it’s not at all at “herd immunity” levels where you can reasonably expect every single friend to use iOS
Idk, I have mostly used Android. Maybe that explains some things.
