Kerry didn’t run on ending the Iraq War. He ran on doing it better. (I had to check because Kerry literally ran on nothing like all fucking centrist dems (although fuck the entire genocide party obviously) so I can’t even remember a single policy he ran on. I was in high school when he ran. My dad stayed up all night to watch the election results. He was coughing like crazy by morning. He had basically made himself ill for fucking John Kerry. This was also after Howard Dean lost the primary (running on universal health care and also from Vermont and also a traitor) because he screamed yeeeehaaawww!!! at a campaign rally. Kerry also went duck-hunting at night like three days before the election in November. PATHETIC.)
Libs never talk about Kerry’s presidential campaign (except in this tweet, oddly enough) because the guy clearly ate shit due to his centrism. Same with Biden. They moan about Hillary because they can blame her loss on russia / being a woman rather than being a terrible candidate and person. Same with Kamala.
Kerry vaguely talked about climate change by basically saying the US has the right to invade the Amazon nations and African/Asian nations to steal their land in name of protecting the enviroment, something he says to this day.

The fact that Dubya’s lackeys completely telegraphed the swift boat strategy beforehand and Kerry’s campaign was still caught flat footed by it.
Oh, it’s not a major thing but still indicative of everything that was wrong with his candidacy, was when he was trying to appeal to the hinterland folks by taking about how great nascar is, but instead of calling it nascar he said “the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing.”
Absolutely sauceless, everyone saw his loss coming from a mile away. If this dude really thought Kerry had a realistic shot, that’s just sad.
My main memory of that campaign was him showing up on a red carpet somewhere with his ketchup heiress wife and all the news media being like "it's very Hollywood, but... is it presidential??" Is it any wonder he ate shit lol
