13 is the "dress-up game" right? always wanted to play that one. Killer soundtrack too!
i think you're thinking of X-2 with the dressphere system, it's pretty sick
X-2 is great. Don't remember too much about the story except the ending, but the combat system was so fun.
Lightning returns is the dress up lightning game. 13 is the one where everyone was confused because the story was needlessly opaque using silly words for things but actually the story was quite simple. Also the game was one single straight line with no exaggeration at all.
Soundtrack is superb my favourite in the whole franchise

13 was the 22-hour narrow corridor simulator with occasional combat breaks where you had to shift your paradigms to synergize with the thought leaders
